Set in 220 acres of North Yorkshire countryside, Queen Ethelburga’s (QE) is an award winning day and boarding school that welcomes girls and boys aged from 3 months to 19 years and boarders from Year 3. A through school, many students begin their QE journey in Chapter House Prep, King's Magna Middle School or at the start of GCSE or A level study in The College. QE College also offers BTEC qualifications and Performance Sport and Performing Arts Pathways. QE offers over 100 clubs, making full use of its exceptional facilities with over 30 acres of elite grass and 3G artificial pitches, a swimming pool, professional theatre, cricket pavilion and gym. QE strive to offer enriching activities, including QE Motorsports and Esports teams. Students can also partake in academically focused clubs and represent the school.
QE’s pastoral team runs a programme of activities to ensure students’ mental and physical health is a priority. The team are Muddy Stilettos Outstanding Pastoral Care Finalists and are available 24/7. A dedicated team of International Liaison Officers provide a specialist support role for students. QE has a boarding community unlike any other with a unique blend of cultures and nationalities. Students in Years 6 to 13 have ensuite bedrooms and every boarding house includes a well equipped common room. There are chill-out spaces, study pods and a communal kitchen. Children are cared for by specialist staff who are separate to academic teachers. The aim for the student community is that QE feels like home
Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate (QE) has a long-standing relationship with the British Forces and has welcomed Forces students for over 100 years. As a preferred school for military families, we currently have over 340 Forces students boarding with us on a campus of 1300 students. We welcome boarders from Year 3 onwards and pride ourselves on our wrap-around specialist support for our Forces students and their families. We are CEA accredited and in recognition of our commitment to the British Forces, we offer a significant reduction in fees to CEA, non-CEA and Ex-Forces families.
