A British education in a world community

St Michael Abbey School has been a prestigious educational facility since it was purpose-built in 1856 by the Oxford University Professor, Sir Frederick Ouseley. First founded as a music school for boys, it later became an important facility in an internationally recognised college group. The campus has developed significantly over its 168-year heritage, now offering state-of-the-art teaching facilities.
Set within 22 acres of beautiful British countryside, the school is situated near the neighbouring towns of Tenbury Wells and Ludlow, which offer a picturesque and tranquil setting to allow students to concentrate on their studies. At the same time, the school is within a short distance of major cities such as Birmingham, providing an ideal location for both study and social activities. Catering for local and international students, St Michael Abbey School is a co educational day and boarding school for students aged 13 to 19. The school offers Immersion, GCSE, A-level and University Foundation courses.
At the heart of the school is a strong ethos, deeply rooted in the values of Curiosity, Integrity and Community – combining a community focus with rich British education and a high-quality independent school experience. The focus is on deepening academic excellence, strengthening the personal development of every student and expanding the school’s connections within the global community.
