Dean Close is set in 50 acres of parkland close to the centre of Cheltenham; the School is renowned for its warm, caring family atmosphere where individuality is cherished. Boarding at Dean Close is thriving with a large majority of British boarders in each of the nine boarding houses. There is a busy weekend programme of activities which cater for all age groups. Our large number of boarders at weekends makes the school very attractive to families living overseas. The Sixth Form Boarding Houses are also very popular with pupils preparing for university.
The School’s campus blends modern architecture and facilities with traditional, with an impressive 550 seat professional theatre, amphitheatre, concert hall, Chapel, two water based Astroturf pitches, a 25m indoor heated swimming pool, climbing wall, indoor rifle range, sports centre, dance studio, fully equipped gymnasium and multiple grass pitches.
Dean Close enjoys an excellent academic profile and offers outstanding Futures advice, with 90% of pupils going to their first choice of university in the UK and internationally; with others choosing industry, the creative or performing arts.
