FSM has a long and proud association with military families.

We are an independent co-educational boarding and day school for 2 - 16-year-olds. Set in 35 acres of stunning grounds, the focus is on the individual’s holistic development. We provide a supportive environment for children, with our highly trained and experienced staff being at the forefront of professional practice. We ensure that every pupil is encouraged to reach their full potential whilst having fun along the way! As part of our continual improvement strategy, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including sports clubs, drama and music.

Sitting on the edge of the New Forest, FSM boasts 3 cricket pitches, 2 rugby pitches, an outdoor heated pool, an astro turf, 4 tennis courts and an indoor sports hall plus there is an extensive range of co-curricular clubs to further broaden the sport offering. As a school, we have extensive experience supporting military families. In addition to this, we provide extra pastoral support to pupils while parents are on active deployment. We understand the unique pressures they face, and through our approach, we explore practical ways to assist them in the weeks and months ahead.

We run a Supporting Active Service (SAS) group which provides additional support for children when a parent is away on deployment. The weekly meetings allow children in similar situations to share their feelings, learn from each other (especially the older children assisting the younger), and explore practical ways to help the weeks and months ahead.
